Most electricians won't put a number on a website. We will. Here's exactly what we charge, what's inside the minimum, and what pushes a job above it — so there's nothing to discover on the invoice.

How the
charging works.

05 — The rules, plainly

The minimum

Two numbers, both published

$100 for the hour, $50 for the travel. The call-out charge and the health and safety fee are already inside the $100, not added on afterwards — so a standard job starts at $150 and materials and GST are shown separately.

Travel

$50, and never twice

Charged once per visit, not per hour. If a job needs us back on a later day — waiting on a part, say — that trip is another $50. Come back the same day and you're not charged twice.

Bigger jobs

Fixed, in writing

Installs, switchboards, heat pumps and fit-outs are quoted as a fixed price before we start, so hourly rates never come into it. We recommend getting the quote first.

What could change the price

Only things nobody could see.

Asbestos in a wall cavity, wiring that's unsafe to leave, a switchboard already at capacity, scaffolding or restricted access. If we find one of those we stop, explain it and you decide. You will never get a surprise on the invoice.

06 — If we get it wrong

You talk to the
General Manager.

We're human and we can make the odd mistake, on the work or on the pricing. There's no complaints portal and no ticket number — William Morton handles it himself, and he'd rather hear about it early than read about it in a review.

07 — The usual ones

What does it cost just to get you here?

The $100 business-hours minimum covers the first hour of labour, the call-out charge and the health and safety fee. Travel is a separate $50 per visit, so a standard call-out starts at $150. After the first hour it's $100 an hour for labour. Materials are itemised separately at cost plus margin.

What counts as after hours?

Outside normal business hours, plus weekends and public holidays. The emergency minimum is $250 for the first hour, covering labour, the call-out, the health and safety fee and travel, then $100 an hour after that. Ring us first — we'll tell you honestly if it can safely wait until morning at the standard rate.

Do I pay for a quote?

No. Site visits to quote are free and there's no obligation. Our estimators can also price most jobs within 24 hours from a description and photos, without visiting at all.

How does the travel charge work?

Travel is $50 per visit, charged once however long we're there. If a job needs us back on a later day — waiting on a part, for example — that return trip is another $50. If we come back the same day, you're not charged twice.

Do you do fixed prices?

For anything substantial, yes, and we'd encourage it. Installs, switchboard upgrades, heat pumps and fit-outs are all quoted as a fixed written price before we start. Hourly rates are really for fault finding, repairs and small jobs where nobody can know the length in advance.

Are these prices GST inclusive?

No — all rates shown exclude GST. Your quote and invoice will show GST separately.

Do property managers get different rates?

We work with a lot of property managers and can set up account terms and priority booking. Talk to us about volume and we'll put something sensible in place.
